Petal DC began as an artistic outlet for MJ, who was an event coordinator overseeing two local restaurants. She graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York City with a degree in fashion design. She has worked in various aspects of the fashion industry - from visual merchandising to fashion styling. As a visual merchandiser at Saks Fifth Avenue, MJ learned all about flowers from a former manager. Since then, she has fallen in love with floral styling and creating the perfect setting for memorable events.
